Southern Rentals & Real Estate names two new members to C-level Board
Chad Blankenship and Richard Lamar join C-level Board at Southern Rentals & Real Estate
DESTIN, Fla. – Sept. 19, 2019 – Southern Rentals & Real Estate is pleased to recognize two new additions to the C-level board. Chad Blankenship and Richard Lamar have been promoted to Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operations Officer, respectively. They join Southern’s current C-level team: Chief Executive Officer, Scott Seay; Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, Patricia Hardiman; Chief Financial Officer, Scott Kyzar; and Chief Information Officer, Mike Prescott.
Blankenship provides Southern with leading technical innovations, systems, and reporting functions in his role as Chief Technology Officer. These initiatives are core components in driving Southern’s future business endeavors. In Lamar’s role as Chief Operations Officer, he will continue to provide Southern with hands-on management and vision of field operations as executed in his prior role as General Manager, as well as help guide Southern in the execution of growth-focused strategies.

Blankenship has served several roles at Southern, having joined the company in June of 2009. With his career at Southern starting as a Guest Services Agent, he quickly moved through the ranks to Reservations Supervisor, then Reservations Manager. In 2014, Blankenship was promoted to General Manager of the Central Region, then advanced to General Manager of Revenue and Business Intelligence in 2018. Blankenship and his wife, Tara, reside in Destin, Florida with their three young daughters. Blankenship, an active member of the community, enjoys coaching his daughters’ sports teams in his off-time.
Lamar, a born-and-raised Fort Walton Beach local, joined Southern as an Assistant Property Manager in Destin after graduating from Auburn University in 2004. From there he rose to Branch Manager in Fort Walton Beach, followed by Director of Operations from Port St. Joe to Pensacola. More recently, Lamar served as the General Manager from Panama City Beach to Coastal Alabama before joining the C-level board. Outside of Southern, Lamar is a Founding Board Member of Visit Pensacola and has served on the Advisory Board for the Hospitality Program at Northwest Florida State College and the Board of Zoning Adjustments for the City of Gulf Shores. Lamar and his wife, Amy, currently reside in Gulf Shores, Alabama with their two daughters and black Labrador Retriever.
